Garage Sale Finds and Cooking from "It's All Good without Gluten in Pyrex

I found this adorable vintage recipe box among "new stuff" at a garage sale.  It was only 25 cents!  I was amazed to find that all the recipe cards are still inside.  It looks like a gift to a teacher, because each card says who it's from and who their child is.  I'm gonna have to convert the recipes to GF and try them!

Found a semi-old blue thermos and made a fourth of July arrangement on my front porch.  The Thermos is now a vase with lavendar and mint leaves!

I've labeled my recipes with which vintage Pyrex to use.  I'm not kidding...it tastes better in cute pans :)  I think that area took more time and loving care into what they prepared and the presentation.

Found for 5 cents

Went to a neighborhood garage sale where a cute little guy in his 80's was selling old stuff for 5 cents.  He was excited that I loved his stuff!

The bottle in front is a prescription from 1952!

More Thrifted, Cheap and Free

Bless my husband, he got me a shelf for my vintage goodies.  I was so excited!  Almost nothing on this shelf cost more than $5...and most things are less then $3.

Painted and framed the 1930's sheet music

Yard saling...looked like nothing, then found this little cupboard covered in dirt, peanut butter and fruit snack remnants and a couple doors missing.  It was marked FREE.  With elbow grease and TLC, and a screwdriver to remove the hinges... I have a laundry room piece

Vintage, Vintage, Vintage!

I haven't blogged much since hubby got home from the jungle.  It's been so good to have him back and I've been busy with the end of school for kids and wrapping up lots of stuff we are involved in.  Lots of Vintage going on here this month.

First, thrifted mint condition vintage pillowcases for $1 each.  I use these in the center of the table, and in this case, the two are huge so it is a runner.  I love using sheets and pillowcases because they are inexpensive and have no food stains!  Anyway, this is what I came up with

Next, some cool finds -

I've been wanting this milk glass pear plate forever.  It's been sitting in an antique store in my town for 4 years for $20.  I wouldn't pay it.  The store just closed, and even then it wasn't on sale.  I was thrifting and in the bottom of the "unload" bin I spotted it.  Imagine my delight when I saw the price, $3.  Good things come to those who wait, and are thrifty!

My family went to the local ice cream shop in town.  In fact it's called "The Local Scoop".  The owner there is so cute and has a continuous running "Garage sale table" in the shop.  I looked over to see a pile of sheet music from the 1920's-1940's.  She said they were 50 cents.  I was so excited, and I'm planning to frame some of them.

Finally, I visited my friend Jamie's new, OLD kitchen.  She had some really great stuff...here are a few photos.

Herbs and flowers from my yard in a vintage jam jar

My shelves get a makeover almost weekly!  Added some citrus pyrex.  See story at www.pyrexcollective3.blogspot.com

I love to add stuff to the bulletin board.  Found this old photo of my aunt and uncle at the Sportsman's Hotel (Read past post!)

My lovely friend Wendy sent me these in a card.  I adore them and they are in my laundry room on a bulletin board there

One of my favorite postcards in a unique frame.
