Can you say: BARN SALE!

Oh my, when I saw the Barn Sale advertised I had no idea.  I got there early but the "dealers" beat me there.  Still I was in heaven with all the finds...and everything was $1 or less!

This is from 1918.  The back has advertising for a local ice cream shop.  This is my favorite find!

Children's nursery rhyme glass

I love this chippy note pad box for near the phone

Gurley Bunnies

The Duck on the right is also Gurley...never seen him before.

This toy chicken cracks me up.  It lays an egg.  And the Syrup container goes with this...

Ahhh!  I love this!  I'm gonna use it when the family eats breakfast in the living room.  Everything is right there.

 I thrifted a few things:

I love this tin!

And Space Savers are still following me.

Happy Memorial Day!

First Neighborhood sale of the season and More

I love this unique recipe box $1

Finally, a neighborhood yard sale.  There isn't much vintage in these newer housing developments, but I always manage to find some.  Each item came from a different sale.

25 cents for this adorable tin
Found this beautiful table cloth for 50 cents
Another for 50 cents

My favorite find, a Hazel Alta Ivy mixing bowl for $3

A mint condition cracker tin and a tiny milk glass chicken ($1, $2)

I grabbed these Shiny Brites from a big box of old ornaments and the lady only asked 25 cents.  I'm kicking myself for not just grabbing the whole thing and digging through it more later.

On the thrift front I found another coffee can for my collection.  $2

And this very old spice bottle for less than a dollar.

I need my flowers to bloom so I can fill this can up!

The sweet friend who decorates the church for different things gave me this crate after I raved about it in her Easter decor.  This is what I did for it for now.
This amazing table cloth was 1/2 price ($2.50) at a little thrift store
A splurge I couldn't pass up.  I sold at an antique shop and took some out for this amazing jug.
This juice jug is in mint condition and I love this little frog linen from the thrifts.
I found this little plastic shaker in a box at a thrift for $1.00

I couldn't resist thrifting this 1918 book...the cover is amazing! $1

The Flowers started blooming before I posted...so here they are.

Mother's Day Vignettes

What's Mother's Day with out a Tea?  I had an afternoon tea for my mom and grandma.  I enjoyed using some vintage Fiestaware, Pyrex, dishes, linens, and of course...lilacs.  I even found vintage napkins still in the package at a thrift store.

Carol and Nancy's sale is back and I couldn't believe the find!  Two Gooseberry Pyrex for $5!

Mix and Match is my favorite

Has anyone seen this book?  I absolutely love it.  It's not old but has vintage illustrations and recipes.

Mother's Day gift from hubby.  That clever fella found an old bucket at an antique store and filled it with flowers for me!

A dear friend gave me this fun vintage remake apron.  It has ways to keep your husband on it.

I hope you all enjoyed Mother's Day!

It's Finally Garage Sale Season!

I bought this depression glass shaker at a yard sale and used it as a vase since it had no lid.

I'm so glad that the sales are coming back!  Over the last couple weekends I've found a few things at the sales and the Swap Meet.  I love finding things super cheap as most of you know so I'm always glad when it's yard sale season.

I love the cover of this book!  Not sure how I'm going to use it yet, but some kind of display.

I've added a few Golden Books to the ones I already had as a kid... I just love them!

This is from the 1930's and the funny thing is, I paid 10 cents and it says 10 cents.

I was thrilled to find this distressed wood rack painted blue.  Perfect for displaying my pink and turquoise linens in the laundry room!

This was my splurge, but in mint condition at $12 in an antique store, I couldn't pass it up!  I love the smaller print!  I don't usually go to this antique store and I couldn't believe the prices.  I've seen this in other antique stores for as much as $60.

This vintage Bon Ami came from the swap meet and the Frozen food carton from that same antique store.

I love the graphics!

A thermos I've never seen had to come home with me.  It has a very unique top on it.  Kind of a flat rubber stopper.

I worked at a thrift shop for a month and got a couple of things.  This is a 1940's Mr Peanut serving set.

Also got this book there.

The one estate sale I found only had this, but I love it!  A unique trimmed table cloth and 4 napkins for $1.

That's it for now!  Happy Yard Sailing!
